Solo & Ensemble Schedules

2026 Solo & Ensemble is coming up for our music students. This year’s event will be spread over three days at Preble High School. We’re just starting to get the performance schedules. We will add the others to this page as they become available. Students should arrive 45 minutes before their scheduled performances.

Multiple schools participate in this event and it can’t happen without volunteers from each school. Preble is looking for parents who are willing and able to monitor performance rooms both inside and outside, help with setup and cleanup, work concessions, and float or fill in doing any or all of the above. If you volunteer you WILL be able to watch your kid perform. Floaters will fill in for you during that time.

Preble’s Music Parents have made things very easy for us. They’ve created a flyer with links to everything you need to know about the different tasks and how to sign up. Check it out below and please sign up if you’re available. Thanks, and we’ll see you there!

2025 Music Banquet and Potluck Dinner

Last year we made a drastic change to the end-of-year Music Banquet, moving it from an off-site event to a potluck dinner held in the cafeteria at East High. The response and participation was overwhelmingly positive, so we’re not changing a thing in 2025.

This year’s banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:00 PM in the East High cafeteria. The main course – pork carnitas and a vegetarian entree – as well as lemonade will be provided by the Performing Arts Parents. We ask that attendees bring a side dish or dessert to contribute to the potluck. After the dinner

If you plan on attending, please fill out this brief RSVP form by May 21. We’ve also added a sign-up form for food. Please click here to sign up and let us know what you plan to bring in the comments. If you have any questions let us know at eastfinearts@gmail.com. We hope to see you there!

Solo & Ensemble Weekends Approaching

We have back-to-back weekends of Solo & Ensemble coming up at Preble High School. Saturday, February 22 consists of vocal and piano. The following Saturday, March 1, consists of all other instruments (band & orchestra).

Here’s the information we have so far:

Click here for a site map of Preble High School showing performance and warm up rooms

Click here for a schedule of all East vocal/piano performers for February 22

Click here for a schedule of all East instrumental performers for March 1

An event like solo & ensemble couldn’t happen without a large team of helpers from multiple schools. Preble needs volunteers, specifically in the areas of hallway and in-room monitors, to help make sure students are in the right place and prepared so the rooms can stay on schedule. If you are available to help on either Saturday for a few hours it would be much appreciated. If you’re concerned about timing, the organizers at Preble are very good about making sure you can get away to watch your student perform when it’s time. It’s a very enjoyable volunteer opportunity, especially if you love music.

We will post more information here when/if it becomes available.

It’s Spring Concert Time

Don’t miss out on the last chance to catch our amazing East High band, choir, and orchestra groups in action for the 2023-2024 school year. Here’s the schedule for our upcoming performances:

Choir – Wednesday, May 15
Band – Wednesday, May 22
Orchestra – Thursday, May 23

All shows start at 7:00 PM and will take place in the East High Auditorium. Make sure to add these to your calendar if you haven’t already!

Help Needed for Solo & Ensemble

Solo & Ensemble is coming up in February at Preble High School. Here are the dates:

Saturday, February 17 – Vocal & Piano
Saturday, February 24 – Band, Orchestra & Jazz

Help is needed from East High Parents, so I’m going to copy the e-mail we recently received from Mrs. Iken to explain. If you have a couple hours to spare on February 17 or 24, please consider signing up.

On Saturday, February 24th, the GBAPS’s district Solo-Ensemble Festival will be held at Preble High School. All band students are in a group ensemble as part of their performance grade for trimester 2. These performances are also open to the public and are free. If you would like to be there for your student’s performance, we invite you!

Also, Preble High School is in desperate need of parent volunteers to supervise the performance rooms. You don’t even need to know anything about music. All you need to do is follow a printed schedule that is posted at each room, and check in performers as they appear for their performance time. A couple hours of your time would make a huge difference! The organizers also make sure that you can get time to be present for your student’s performance.

Butter Braid Pickup Tuesday

Just a reminder that Butter Braid pickup is Tuesday, February 28, from 1:30 – 3:30 PM. Pickup will be in the arts hallway on the north end of the school. If you’re a parent/family member coming to school to pick them up please park in the lot by the football field/track and use Door #9. Also, please keep in mind that the Butter Braids are frozen and shouldn’t be left out for more than about two hours, so if you can’t deliver them immediately make sure you have freezer space for them. If you have any questions you can contact us by clicking here. Thanks.

Butter Braid Fundraiser Info

The annual Butter Braid fundraiser for Green Bay East High music, arts, and theater is about to start and we’ll try to put all of the information you need here:

What is a Butter Braid?
I’m glad you asked. A Butter Braid is a delicious pastry that comes in a variety of flavors. The pastries come to you frozen so you can put them in the freezer until you’re ready to bake them. If you want to know more click here to visit their website.

How long does the fundraiser run?
Orders started on Monday, February 6, and are due back at school by Tuesday, February 21. Your East High music/theater/arts student has received information and a physical order form. You can also setup an online order form by clicking here. Once you fill out the brief registration form you’ll be given a personalized link that can be pasted into an e-mail, text, social media post, or anywhere else you use a link. You can also access the online store here.

When will we get our Butter Braids?
The Butter Braids will be delivered to school on Tuesday, February 28, and will need to be picked up by someone after school on that day because they are frozen and can’t be left out.

Lastly, we will be looking for someone to take over the Butter Braid fundraiser in 2024 and would love for that person to get involved in the sale this year so they can get some experience with it before next year. If you’re willing and able to take the lead on this fundraiser in the future please e-mail us and someone will get in touch with you with more information.

We will continue to add more information to this site as we have it. If you have any questions, need assistance, or have interest in helping with the fundraiser you can contact us here or submit a comment in the space below. Thanks!
